Religion:
- Since 1964 I have leaned heavily towards Bible-oriented, Christian, non-Roman Catholic,
evangelical, fundamentalist, conservative theologies and practices.
- In 1964 I became familiar with the gospel of Jesus Christ, as it is clearly portrayed in
the Judeao-Christian Scriptures.
- I haven't practiced praying and reading the Bible on a regular basis, nor have I
participated in any church gatherings or functions, since 1994.
- Also, I think it is most honest and non-hypocritical to say that I don't have much to
boast about as far as righteous thoughts, words, and deeds are concerned or as far as
working out my own salvation with fear and trembling is concerned.
- But I have always been very concerned about both righteousness and the salvation of my
soul, and especially the salvation of the souls of my loved ones, ever since I first
believed the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- I have always been very concerned about the TRUTH about the ultimate origin, purpose and
destiny of all things, but mankind in particular.
- I have always found it wise to take an open-minded approach to the Truth. In other
words, I have found it necessary to throw myself upon the mercy of the TRUTH Himself
(please refer to John 14:6, in the Bible to learn why I consider the TRUTH to be a living,
conscious, although abstract being, such as both the objects we call God (or
god) and the substance we know as life (or spirit) are, especially
when I became humbled by the indisputable fact that my finite mind can only grasp one
aspect of the infinite TRUTH at a time, rendering me extremely vulnerable to every
conceivable deception known to mankind.
- So far, I have discovered that a fundamentalist / evangelical / conservative / Biblical
/ Protestant / Christian perspective withstands the scrutiny of an informed opposition
better than any other. But the measure of the spirit of TRUTH that exists within me
keeps me open for correction at all times.
