PHSisters Gathering
August 14-18, 2025
PHSisters = Gals who were friends at Pearce High School in the 70's; and some were friends even earlier than that!
Our temporary home for a 5-day weekend
Our VRBO is an “elegant residence” built in 1901 at a cost of $5,000. “By far the handsomest and among the largest residences” in the city. “No modern convenience has been omitted in its plan,” according to a 1902 newspaper article.
Five bedrooms, three baths, four little sitting areas, beautiful and intricate woodwork,…it’s gorgeous.
And with friendly neighbors (3 different deer) across the street from, and in the backyard of, our VRBO.
See other PHSisters gatherings!
This trip is a Girls’ Weekend in Cañon City, Colorado. Four of us met up at Denver airport early on Thursday and rented a car together (Yvonne, Elaine, Karen, and Theresa). It’s about a two-hour drive to Cañon City where we will up with the other three (Sherri, Brenda, and Marilyn). Susan was also able to come down from Denver on Sunday.
We stopped at the Air Force Academy on our way. The beautiful chapel is under construction. We thought we could at least see the outside. Nope. It’s under a big box. Completion is scheduled for 2029.
We ate lunch at the Black Eyed Pea restaurant in Pueblo, CO. I haven’t seen one of those in ages.
So glad we had lunch here. It was yummy food and a fun trip down memory lane.

We had lunch at Chili’s on Sunday and then had plans to go to The Abbey and the winery but catching up and great conversation beat out the field trip and we just hung out on the porch.
